Faulty Hardware Diagnostics
Common symptoms of faulty hardware are blue screens of death (BSOD), computers freezing, random restarting, slow loading times, slow boot time, graphical artifacts, or if the computer is simply not turning on. On occasion I'm brought hardware which is not from a traditional computer at all - and many of these can be diagnosed and repaired all the same.
Repairing Hardware
Sometimes faulty hardware can be repaired instead of being replaced. Capacitors in electronics can go bad and need to be replaced over time; internal batteries may fail and leak; and sometimes all that's required is a physical clean-out to bring temperatures down.
Replacing and Upgrading Hardware
Sometimes replacing hardware is not to resolve a fault, but because it's time for a swap for a different use-case or an upgrade for better performance. If you're looking to change parts out in your PC, feel free to get in touch and I can help find what's best for you.
Data Recovery
STORMComponents strives to offer low-cost data recovery to customers, whatever condition their computer is in. I've now saved data from thousands of computers, and have access to software and tooling to recover data even where others have failed. In the most extreme recovery cases, I can use my links with 'forensic recovery' firms to save data others have deemed inaccessible.
Installation of Operating Systems and Software
A staple of computer repair is being able to efficiently install operating systems, ready for use, and without the headache of unnecessary softare and questions that brand-new systems often come with. I pride myself in being able to setup Windows and Microsoft Office for customers in a simple manner, and ensure a smooth and straight-forward user experience. I'm well experienced in 'cleaning up' and servicing computers, along with removal of potentially unwanted programs and 'bloatware'.
